Master Chef's Fresh and Flavorful Spaghetti Sauce Recipe


  • 1 kg San Marzano tomatoes 
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 yellow onion, finely chopped
  • Handful of fresh basil leaves
  • Handful of fresh oregano leaves
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste


  1. Slice the San Marzano tomatoes in half and gently squeeze out the seeds. Roughly chop them. 

  2. Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped yellow onion. Saute until onions are translucent and garlic is fragrant, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. Add chopped basil, oregano, rosemary, chives, and thyme to the saucepan. Stir well and cook for 1-2 minutes to infuse flavors.

  4. Add chopped San Marzano tomatoes to the saucepan. Stir to combine and bring to a gentle simmer.

  5. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens.

  6. Stir in white vinegar. Season sauce with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

  7. Serve sauce tossed with freshly cooked spaghetti noodles. Garnish with additional fresh basil leaves if desired.
